We just launched the landing page for “Practical Utopias” on the Live Learning platform Disco!
The program will happen in late Feb/March/early April: the mission is to group-design new ways of living and decision making to combat the Climate Crisis:
New materials, new energies, new foods, new social forms: there is no “perfect,” but there can be “better.”

March 1 was the publication date for “Burning Questions”: selected essays from 2004 to now. What a time to be publishing a book… as Ukranians hold out against the Russian invasion. But it’s good to see a resurging interest in the truth, and in upholding core democratic values.
With things opening up as Omicron wanes — we hope — I’m chancing a few trips: to London and Edinburgh in the last week of March, then to the US, and after that, Portugal… see Events for details. I’m looking forward!
Finishing the ms for a book of stories. Preparing some videos for various causes. Working on a collaboration with artist David Mack for a graphics collection based around the songs of Tori Amos. And continuing work on “Practical Utopias,” with @discolearn, an online interactive course in which we will ask the question: how can we build better, live better, and live together better while prioritizing a carbon drawdown future? Launches Sept. 2022…
